DKSL Analytics Reader — effective and last updated: September 4, 2026
The short version: DKSL Analytics Reader is a private statistics tool used by one person on his own YouTube channel. It reads; the only thing it creates is a YouTube reporting job, which is how daily thumbnail figures are obtained. It is not offered to anyone else, and there is nothing here to sign up for.
1. What this is
DKSL Analytics Reader (the “Reader”) is a desktop tool written and used by Dustin Paulson to read audience statistics for the DK Security Lab YouTube channel, which he owns. It is not distributed, not licensed to others, and not sold. These terms exist because Google requires a published terms link for an application that uses OAuth, and they describe the only use the Reader has.
2. Who may use it
Its owner. The Reader authorises against a single Google account and reads only the channel that account owns. It has no accounts, no sign-up, and no facility for a second user.
3. YouTube API Services
The Reader uses YouTube API Services and its owner agrees to the YouTube Terms of Service. Access may be reviewed and revoked at any time at Google security settings.
4. What it is permitted to do
Read statistics, and create one reporting job. The Reader holds one OAuth scope,
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/yt-analytics.readonly. It cannot upload, modify,
publish, unpublish or delete any video, and cannot change the channel. It does register a standing
YouTube reporting job — the only route to thumbnail impression and click-through
figures — which is a write, leaves an object in the account until deleted, and is described
in sections 3 and 7 of the
privacy policy. Any wider access would
require a new consent from the account owner, and both documents would be updated first.
5. No warranty
The Reader is provided as-is, with no warranty of any kind. It reports figures supplied by Google’s APIs; it does not guarantee their accuracy, availability or completeness, and Google may change or withdraw those APIs at any time.
6. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the author is not liable for any loss or damage arising from use of the Reader. As the only user is its author, this clause has no practical effect on anybody else.
7. Changes
These terms may be updated. The date at the top of this page changes when they are.
